Profile

Brief Biography

Mohamed Orabi has over 17 years professional experience in high quality teaching at college level. He served as faculty member in several educational institutions such as Alexandria University, Arab Academy for Science and Technology, Pharos University in Alexandria, Humboldt Universität zu Berlin in Germany. He has taught an array of courses on physics, electrical engineering, and calculus. In September 2014, Dr. Orabi joined the American University of the Middle East in Kuwait as Assistant Professor of physics.  His general research field is the condensed matter physics with an interest in multiple facets with hands-on experimental skills with ultra-high vacuum technology together with advanced measurement and analytical techniques e.g. MBE, STM, LEED, and ARPES also with synchrotron radiation.

Mohamed Orabi is licensed as professional electrical Engineer in Egypt and a member of German Physical Society [Deutsche Physikalische Gesellschaft (DPG)], and International Association of Engineers (IANG). He served on several departmental and faculty committees and workshops as well as scientific committees of international conferences.

  • M.Sc. in Electronics and Communication Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Arab Academy for Science and Technology.
  • Ph.D. degree in Experimental Physics at Institute of Physics, Humboldt Universität zu Berlin (HUB), Germany in 2012.
  • Diploma in Education from Faculty of Education, Alexandria University in 2013.
