It's been all about jazz these days at AUC’s School of Continuing Education (SCE). In partnership with the U.S. Embassy in Cairo, SCE hosted acclaimed American musicians in Egypt during the 14th edition of the annual Cairo Jazz Festival.

Towering in the middle of AUC’s Tahrir Cultural Center (TCC) is a metal sculpture containing intricate shapes made of iron, accompanied by three paintings on a nearby wall. Visual arts major Nour Tawfik ‘22, describes the installation, “Nostalgia is a Dirty Liar…” — which took her a year’s worth of research and creativity to make for her senior project:

Writing Across Genres
March 22, The debut of an exciting new talk series titled Creative Writing in English, took place on the Ewart Hall stage recently. Enjoy this video of the event, which was organized by AUC Tahrir Cultural Center in collaboration with the department of English and Comparative Literature and the AUC Literature Club. Writing Across Genres was the name of the conversation between award-winning writer Mai Serhan and Tahrir Cultural Center Director Tarek Atia. Mai is a Palestinian-Egyptian writer, editor and translator. She earned her BA in English & Comparative Literature and MA in Arabic Literature from the American University in Cairo and an M.A in Creative Writing from the University of Oxford.
