Design Thinking Day Long Sprint
What is Design Thinking?
Design Thinking is a human-centered innovation framework, adopted by fortune 500 companies, like Apple, IBM, P&G, Airbnb, JP Morgan, as well as social enterprises, and governmental and non-governmental organizations to design and develop innovative solutions to some of the world’s most complex problems. The disruptive framework is based on four core values and mindsets – embracing ambiguity, building deep empathy, radical collaboration, and agile experimentation – that guide problem solvers through an experiential learning journey in search for unmet and unarticulated user needs, and designing innovative user-centered solutions that are technically feasible and financially viable.
Another key element of Design Thinking is its multidisciplinary team-based approach. The innovation process does not rely solely on individual creativity; it depends on a collaborative innovation culture between multi-disciplinary team members, bringing multiple perspectives to the problem solving process.
The Format
The RCC Design Thinking Sprint is an introductory experience, designed to immerse participants in the Design Thinking process and mindset, applied to a real-world project, in collaboration with an industry partner. This day-long experience offers participants a first-hand experience of Design Thinking to solve complex innovation problems with a creative mindset in diverse teams.
