International Student Life

The Office of International Student Life (ISL), formerly known as the Office of International Student Affairs, offers advocacy and assistance to all international students throughout their sojourn in Egypt.

ISL staff members act as a liaison between students and other offices on campus on all non-academic issues and attends to emergency that occur around the clock. The ISL team includes four staff members and more than 25 international peer leaders (IPLs) who work around the clock. IPLs volunteer their time and effort to support international students and make their transition to Egypt a pleasant experience. Read More

  • Advice on what to expect, and how to prepare for your studies in Egypt
  • Assistance in obtaining a student visa
  • Organizes trips and activities to familiarizes international students with the culture of Egypt and AUC
  • Staffs and trains IPLs volunteers to support  your transition to life in Egypt and at AUC




Non-Egyptian students are strongly recommended to get their student visa from the Egyptian consulate in their country before their arrival.

Office of The Medical Services


AUC requires that all international students (enrolled as non-Egyptian) who are not permanent residents in Egypt, have a comprehensive accident and sickness insurance plan, including emergency medical evacuation, political evacuation natural disaster, and repatriation of remains.
