Shuttle Buses

New Cairo Faculty Housing Shuttle Services

Shuttle services are provided for the exclusive use of New Cairo Faculty Housing residents. They are limited to AUC employees living in New Cairo Faculty Housing, their spouses and children, and their short-term visitors from abroad.

Residents of New Cairo Faculty Housing must carry a pass from the Office of Faculty Housing to use the shuttle services. The resident must apply for and obtain a shuttle pass from the Office of Faculty Housing.

AUC employees who are not residents of New Cairo Faculty Housing, local visitors, domestic workers, or other New Cairo Faculty Housing employees are not eligible to use the shuttle services.

Any AUC community member not residing in the New Cairo Faculty Housing cannot use the shuttle service.

For New Cairo Faculty Housing Shuttle Services for Short-term Visitors

Short-term visitors (non-AUC community members) from abroad, who are temporarily residing with a New Cairo Faculty Housing resident, must carry a pass from the Office of Faculty Housing to use the shuttle services. The resident must apply for and obtain a shuttle pass directly from the office. The application should be submitted at least seven days before the desired start date of the pass. Bus Routes and Schedules to Commercial Areas and from/to AUC New Cairo campus 

Buses only run at the scheduled times. Riders must call the New Cairo Faculty Housing building guard desk to report the number of riders at least 15 minutes before the departure time to ensure that an appropriate vehicle is sent. This applies to the commercial areas shuttle and the shuttle from/to the AUC New Cairo campus.

Below are the buildings guard desk telephone numbers that you should call:

• 10 Abd El Kader Hatem St. (Plot 1), extension 4645, or +20.2.2615.4645 from a mobile phone
• 20 Abd El Kader Hatem St. (Plot 2), extension  4586, or +20.2.2615.4586 from a mobile phone
• 39 Ahmed Abu El Naga St. (Plot 3), extension  4650, or +20.2.2615.4650 from a mobile phone

The shuttle picks-up the riders from the main entrance of the New Cairo Faculty Housing buildings.

Ensure that the guards know the building for which you are requesting a shuttle (the building address). You must have a shuttle sticker on your ID card to be able to use the shuttle. The shuttles will only run if requested by a New Cairo Faculty Housing member.

Drivers are required to abide by departure times and will not wait for late passengers. Kindly arrive before the departure times.

Shopping and Errand Shuttle Bus

There are various destinations for the shopping shuttle. Use the tables below to plan your trips. The route from New Cairo Faculty Housing to Cairo Festival City includes requested stops at Americana Mall, Meeting Point, Oscar, 7-Stars Mall, Downtown Mall, and Cairo Festival City (Carrefour gate). You can be dropped off at any location mentioned above along the route, but pick-up is not guaranteed if you are not going to the designated destination. Return time will be as indicated below unless there is a consensus among the riders to leave earlier. Although priority will always be given to the designated destination, if there is a consensus among the riders, any of the destinations on the table could be adopted by the shopping shuttle.

• 20 Abd El Kader Hatem St. (Plot 2)

Add two minutes to the departure time mentioned in the below schedule if you are taking the bus from 10 Abd El Kader Hatem St. (Plot 1) and add four minutes from the departure time mentioned in the below schedule if you are taking the bus from 20 Abd El Kader Hatem St. (Plot 2).

The route of the shuttle bus going to New Cairo Housing is as follows:

• 20 Abd El Kader Hatem St. (Plot 2)
• 39 Ahmed Abu El Naga St. (Plot 3)

Weekdays (Sunday - Thursday)

*The 11:30 am shuttle must pick up the riders at 2:00 pm from the destination point. Make arrangements to take a taxi home if you wish to leave at a different time.

**The 7:00 pm shuttle must pick up the riders at 9:30 pm from the destination point. Make arrangements to take a taxi home if you wish to leave at a different time.

Weekends and Holidays

*The 10:00 am shuttle can drop off at Zahraa Metro Station. The 10:00 am shuttle must pick up the riders at 12:00 pm from the destination point. Make arrangements to take a taxi home if you wish to leave at a different time.

**The 2:00 pm shuttle must pick up the riders at 4:00 pm from the destination point. Make arrangements to take a taxi home if you wish to leave at a different time.

***The 6:00 pm shuttle must pick up the riders at 8:00 pm from the destination point. Make arrangements to take a taxi home if you wish to leave at a different time.

Campus Shuttle

The route of the shuttle bus going to the New Cairo AUC campus is as follows:

• 10 Abd El Kader Hatem St. (Plot 1)
• 20 Abd El Kader Hatem St. (Plot 2)
