Scholarships for Egyptian Students
AUC offers scholarships based on merit and need. Generally, scholarships are reserved for students with strong academic qualifications who demonstrate high financial need.
The types of scholarships are categorized according to the following:
- Need-Based Scholarships
- Need-Based AUC Funded Scholarships
- Need-Based Named Scholarships
- Need-Based Sponsored Scholarships
- Merit-Based Named Scholarships
- Merit-Based AUC-Funded Scholarships
These are scholarships based on financial need and academic merit.
The Tomorrow's Leaders Scholarship program is funded through the US Department of State, Bureau of Near Eastern Affairs for qualified and highly motivated high school seniors in the Middle East and North Africa who come from diverse backgrounds. The program provides four-year university scholarships and internship opportunities at select institutions of higher learning in the Middle East to students who have the potential to become leaders.
AUC offers 20 annual full-tuition scholarships to Egyptian students who are graduates of public schools in Egypt and are financially disadvantaged. For eligibility and selection criteria, click here
AUC provides five full and/or partial annual scholarships to thanawiya amma graduates from five governorates in Upper Egypt: Assiut, Beni Suef, Minya, Sohag and Fayyoum. For eligibility and selection criteria, click here
This is a partial scholarship awarded every semester for continuing students that will fund the cost of three credit hours of instruction in a degree program at AUC. Students must demonstrate financial need, have had clean conduct and academic integrity record for the previous semester, have a minimum GPA of 2.0, be registered as a full-time student and demonstrate a positive contribution to the AUC Tobacco-Free initiative. Student Life Scholarships
The AUC Liberal Arts Undergraduate Scholarship
Building upon AUC’s commitment to internationalization and to offer exceptional liberal arts education in a cross-cultural environment and promoting liberal arts education in Egypt. The AUC liberal arts undergraduate scholarship will offer exceptional partial and full undergraduate scholarships to students from Egypt, the region, and the United States to study humanities and social sciences.

Thanks to the generosity of our donors, AUC offers almost 70 named scholarships supported by individuals and corporations. These remarkable awards from donors have allowed AUC to recruit and educate outstanding and eligible students who come from different cities and educational backgrounds. The selection of named scholarships is based on the donor’s criteria.
The Abdulhadi H. Taher Endowed Scholarships provide full or partial support to Egyptian and Saudi Arabian students who demonstrate financial need and outstanding academic performance. The fund also provides housing for Saudi Arabian students or Egyptian students who live outside Cairo and Giza.
Established in 2017 to support undergraduate Egyptian students who demonstrate outstanding academic performance and financial need.
Established in 2010 to provide partial scholarships to two academically outstanding Egyptian students majoring in petroleum and energy engineering. Selection is based on financial need and academic merit.
Attijariwafa Bank Public School Scholarship
Established in 2019 to supports one public school graduate with a physical or learning disability who has demonstrated exceptional academic achievement and leadership.
AUC Centennial Scholarship Fund
This scholarship will offer partial/full support for an undergraduate degree-seeking Egyptian and international students.
Dr. Hamza AlKholi Public School Scholarship
Established in 2019 to support a student graduated from a public school with financial need and academic merit.
To partially support the tuition and fees of two students (preferably female) in the School of Business, concentration in Finance. The scholarship will be granted to students who demonstrate outstanding academic record and financial need.
Established in 2015 to support Arab students (females or males) in the fields of basic science such as mathematics, engineering, physics, chemistry, biology, energy and petroleum, water and environment, economics, and development. Acceptance will be based on merit and financial need.
Dr. Osman Abousteit Award for Exchanges to Germany
This award will support students who clearly demonstrate how their experience at a German university, German company or in a German artist residence will make an impact on their lives.
Shell Egypt N.V Endowed Scholarship
Established in 2013 to provide a partial tuition scholarship for up to two students in the Department of Petroleum and Energy Engineering.
The scholarship is open to both undergraduate and graduate students.

Al Alfi Foundation Undergraduate STEM Scholarship
The Al Alfi scholarship program is designed to prepare future Egyptian scientists. The scholarship provides partial tuition to undergraduates students at AUC.
George Frederick Jewett Foundation East
This is a grant established to support undergraduate female students from Egyptian public schools.
Misr El Kheir STEM Scholarship
The Misr El Kheir (MEK) Foundation is an Egyptian not-for-profit foundation committed to developing Egyptian citizens and communities. The foundation shares the costs of the MEK scholarship program with AUC to provide students who graduated with a STEM certificate with a full-tuition scholarship, in addition to books. In Fall 2014, AUC admitted three MEK-STEM students to complete their undergraduate science degree at AUC.

AUC partnered with Orascom Construction Limited to offer the OC-AUC scholarship program. The scholarship provides full-tuition annual scholarships to public or private high school graduates from eight governorates in Upper Egypt: Assiut, Bani Suef, Minya, Sohag, Fayoum, Qena, Luxor and Aswan.
The Local Scholarship Program (LSP) is funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) with the support of the American people. The program is part of the US - Egypt Higher Education Initiative (HEI). The US - Egypt Higher Education Initiative is an investment in Egypt’s future that provides educational opportunities for high-achieving Egyptians to learn skills that will better meet the needs of the 21st-century economy. The program is managed by the Institute of International Education (IIE), in partnership with a consortium of Egyptian partner universities and organizations.
Youssef Nabih Endowed Scholarship in Accounting
Established in 2004 to support the graduating senior with the highest grade point average in the accounting department.
The achievement scholarship is only available to current students who were admitted to AUC before Fall 2015.
