GradNews Welcome to the third issue of Grad News!  The e-newsletter for graduate students and alums is published on a periodic basis. Each issue includes information about upcoming workshops, opportunities, and deadlines and highlights pertaining to graduate studies. 

 

  Upcoming Fellowships Deadlines

December 1 Yousef Jameel GAPP Public Leadership Fellowship (Egyptian nationals - global affairs, public policy, public administration, journalism and mass communication, international human rights law, LLM)    December 2   Readmission Deadlines for Graduate Programs  Graduate students and departments are encouraged to observe readmission deadlines in order to offer equal opportunities to students who hope to re-apply to their graduate programs. Make Use of the Graduate Support Grants Offered by AUC Research, Conference and Study-Abroad Grants Interested graduate students must submit 2013 - 2014 grant applications to their departments by one of the following three upcoming deadlines:  November 10, 2013; February 9, 2014; or April 6, 2014. All full-time graduate students at AUC are eligible to apply for research, conference and study-abroad grants. Those who have just graduated and intend to present the results of their MA or MSc thesis at a recognized professional conference may also apply.   

 

Study Opportunities in the UK  Gates Cambridge Scholarships   

These are full-cost scholarships for international students to study any subject at the postgraduate level at the University of Cambridge.

 

The scholarships are among the most prestigious scholarships in the world, and the program was set up by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation in 2000 by a donation of $210 million. Since then, the program has supported more than 1200 students from 95 countries.  

Applications for 2014/15 entry are now open and the deadline for non-U.S. citizens is December 3, 2013.

Open Invitation to for Graduate Students to the AAUP Meeting 

 

Dear faculty members and graduate students,

 

We have recently established a chapter of the American Association of University Professors (AAUP) at AUC. We want to address faculty and graduate student concerns.  We are having a reception open to all AUC faculty and graduate students on Thursday November 14 at 1 pm at the Faculty Lounge (next to the library) in order to introduce ourselves to the AUC community and answer any questions or concerns faculty and graduate students may have about the chapter.  There will be refreshments so could you please RSVP to me (rizzo_helen@hotmail.com) by November 10
