AUC Portal Light Up for World Autism Day

In celebration of Autism Awareness month, AUC has lit up its portal in blue as part of a worldwide Light-It-Up-Blue campaign for World Autism Awareness Day. The initiative is the effort of students under the Nadhmi Auchi Young Arab Leaders Graduate Fellowship Program at AUC, and aims to bring awareness of individuals with autism. Other sites throughout Egypt that have also lit up in blue included The Citadel. In previous years, the Cairo Opera House and the pyramids were lit in blue, marking this worldwide event.

Last year, the Nadhmi Auchi fellows introduced Autism to the AUC community during the "Walk for Autism" day, in collaboration with Advance, Coca Cola, Helm, the Arab Network for Autism, and Zephyr. The event was a great success, and the fellows hope to continue the tradition and establish an AUC based Autism club in the near future.
