Reports to: Associate Director, Student Organizations and Services

Purpose: Collaborate with the associate director in promoting integration among the AUC student body through the organized activities. Produce and analyze statistical data and information related student activities so as to assess and improve the performances of the programs. Lead the planning, organizing and coordinating the work of student services unit. Provide critical support to the mission of the student life by assisting the associate director who is the leading both the student organizations and services leading the student services. Managing the international student health plan, liaison with different departments. 

Principal Accountabilities: 

  • Interpret and implement student life University policy to advise international students on a variety of issues including personal, financial, academic, visa, health and insurance, and travel. Act as effective liaison with ALIN and CASA
  • Implement mandatory, comprehensive, integrated new international student orientation programming focusing on new student needs to settle and adjust to life in Cairo and AUC
  • Oversee the mandatory health insurance policy for AUC students 
  • Manage international students activities, events and programming by organizing with operations and events unit on reserving halls and determining CTMS needs, liaison with the office of advancement and communications on international students publications
  • Coordinate with events and operations to implement these projects
  • Manage the annual international day, manage the team of student services staff members and IPLs to guarantee the success of this campus-wide event, and advise the associate director to liaise with other offices
  • Participate in ‘on call’ rotation for after hours, weekend emergencies
  • Manage and evaluate the orientation follow-up session held at retreats away from Cairo
  • Plan the recruitment, training program and tasks of International Peer Leaders (IPLs) to support international student orientation program, events and trips
  • Plan and manage gender issues discussion circles, liaison with moderator and coordinate with IPLs
  • Manage the developing materials to assist students with researching for safe, affordable housing off-campus including maps, knowledge of Cairo neighborhood, list of landlords, tips for leasing a flat and lease review service, maintaining community contacts and updating the website. Regular updates for off-campus housing options
  • Oversee the creation, update and posting/dissemination of student publications including but not limited to the international student guide


Minimum Education Requirement:  Bachelor’s degree

Experience: Minimum of eight years of previous experience with four years in relevant field preferably providing services to students


  • Excellent English communication skills 
  • The following specific competencies: data gathering, analysis and organization, problem solving, professionalism, task management and teamwork
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs
