Scholarships for Egyptian Students
AUC offers scholarships based on merit and need. Generally, scholarships are reserved for students with strong academic qualifications who demonstrate high financial need.
The types of scholarships are categorized according to the following:

- Merit-Based Named Scholarships
- Merit-Based AUC-Funded Scholarships

Tomorrow’s Leaders Scholarship Program
The Tomorrow's Leaders Scholarship program is funded through the U.S. Department of State, Bureau of Near Eastern Affairs for qualified and highly motivated high school seniors in the Middle East and North Africa who come from diverse backgrounds. The program provides four-year university scholarships and internship opportunities at select institutions of higher learning in the Middle East to students who have the potential to become leaders.
Egyptian Public School Scholarships (Vacant)
AUC offers 20 annual full-tuition scholarships to Egyptian students who are graduates of public schools in Egypt and are financially disadvantaged. For eligibility and selection criteria, click here.
Empower Scholarship (Vacant)
AUC provides five full and/or partial annual scholarships to thanawiya amma graduates from five governorates in Upper Egypt: Assiut, Beni Suef, Minya, Sohag and Fayyoum
Honor Scholarship (The honor scholarship is only available to current students who were admitted to AUC till Fall 2016)

Thanks to the generosity of our donors, AUC offers almost 70 named scholarships supported by individuals and corporations. These remarkable awards from donors have allowed AUC to recruit and educate outstanding and eligible students who come from different cities and educational backgrounds. Selection to named scholarships is based on the donor’s criteria.
Nevine Loutfy Scholarship
To partially support the tuition and fees of two students (preferably female) in the School of Business, concentration in Finance. The scholarship will be granted to students who demonstrate outstanding academic record and financial need.
Dr. Osman Abousteit Award for Exchanges to Germany
This award will support students who clearly demonstrate how their experience at a German university, German company or in a German artist residence will make an impact on their lives.
Abdel Hadi Hassan Taher Endowed Scholarship (Vacant)
The Abdel Hadi Hassan Taher Endowed Scholarship provides full or partial support to Egyptian and Saudi Arabian students who demonstrate financial need and outstanding academic performance. The fund also provides housing for Saudi Arabian students or Egyptian students who live outside Cairo and Giza.
Apache Corporation Endowed Scholarship
Established in 2010 to provide partial scholarships to two academically outstanding Egyptian students majoring in petroleum and energy engineering. Selection is based on financial need and academic merit.
Dr. Ahmed and Ann M. El-Mokadem Study Abroad Scholarship (Vacant)
Established in 2017 to support undergraduate Egyptian students who demonstrate outstanding academic performance and financial need.
Mohammed Bin Abdulkarim A. Allehedan Endowed Scholarship and Scientific Research Fund (Vacant)
Established in 2015 to support Arab students (females or males) in the fields of basic science such as mathematics, engineering, physics, chemistry, biology, energy and petroleum, water and environment, economics, and development. Acceptance will be based on merit and financial need.
Shell Egypt N.V Endowed Scholarship
Established in 2013 to provide a partial tuition scholarship for up to two students in the Department of Petroleum and Energy Engineering.
AUC Centennial Scholarship Fund
This scholarship will offer partial/full support for an undergraduate degree-seeking Egyptian and international students.

Al Alfi Foundation Undergraduate STEM Scholarship
The Al Alfi scholarship program is designed to prepare future Egyptian scientists. The scholarship provides partial tuition to undergraduates students at AUC.
George Frederick Jewett Foundation East
This is a grant established to support undergraduate female students from Egyptian public schools.
Misr El Kheir STEM Scholarship
The Misr El Kheir (MEK) Foundation is an Egyptian not-for-profit foundation committed to developing Egyptian citizens and communities. The foundation shares the costs of the MEK scholarship program with AUC to provide students who graduated with a STEM certificate with a full tuition scholarship, in addition to books. In Fall 2014, AUC admitted three MEK-STEM students to complete their undergraduate science degree at AUC.
The MEK scholarship is currently not accepting new applications.
Kaderoun Scholarship presented by Misr El Kheir Foundation, in partnership with the Sawiris Foundation for Social Development. Misr Al-Kheir Foundation, in partnership with the Sawiris Foundation for Social Development, provides scholarships for students with "Kinetic-Audio-Visual" disabilities, graduates of thanawiya amma for the academic year 2018/2019 at The American University in Cairo. The scholarship aims at integrating students with disabilities into university life and providing special educational opportunities that enable them to have quality education and better job opportunities.
AUC partnered with Orascom Construction to offer a new OC - AUC scholarship program. The scholarship provides five full-tuition annual scholarships to public or private high school graduates from eight governorates in Upper Egypt (Assiut, Bani Suef, Minya, Sohag, Fayoum, Qena, Luxor and Aswan) to pursue an undergraduate degree in economics at AUC.
USAID Egypt IIE - LSP Scholarship Program
The Local Scholarship Program (LSP) is funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) with the support of the American people. The program is part of the U.S.- Egypt Higher Education Initiative (HEI). The U.S.- Egypt Higher Education Initiative is an investment in Egypt’s future that provides educational opportunities for high-achieving Egyptians to learn skills that will better meet the needs of the 21st-century economy. The program is managed by the Institute of International Education (IIE), in partnership with a consortium of Egyptian partner universities and organizations.
Youssef Nabih Endowed Scholarship in Accounting
Established in 2004 to support the graduating senior with the highest grade point average in the accounting department.
Academic Achievement Scholarship
The achievement scholarship is only available to current students who were admitted to AUC before Fall 2015.
