The second AUC-Mountain View Design Thinking Challenge was held from November 4 to November 6, 2021.
Final presentations will run over a two-hour session on November 10, 2021.
The challenge took place on AUC New Cairo Campus by professional coaches and facilitators.
The Design Thinking Immersive Workshop exposed participants to the creative problem-solving framework, where they tackled an authentic challenge, in collaboration with AUC's Innovation Hub and our industry challenge partner, Mountain View. Participants engaged in an experiential learning experience that reflects the high-impact practices that AUC aspires to promote.
Teams worked on the following challenge statement: "How might we design a mixed-use urban living experience that strengthens a sense of community, in a world where young families struggle to lead a genuine, connected life?"
Design Thinking is a human-centered innovation framework, adopted by fortune 500 companies, including Apple, IBM, P&G, Airbnb, JP Morgan, among many others. Design Thinking teams follow an iterative process to discover user needs, struggles and aspirations, and design user-centered solutions that are technically feasible and financially viable.
Upon completion, participants will receive a certificate of completion from AUC Innovation Hub and Center for Learning and Teaching and will be eligible to apply for several internships at Mountain View Developments.
