Officer, Study Abroad, International Programs Office (50013876)

Reports to: Director, International Programs

Purpose: Coordinate, in collaboration with the director of international programs, the announcement, selection and placement process for the study abroad and exchange program. Maintain, deliver and handle logistics, student inquires, program information sessions, filing system and updating the international programs website. Assist in coordinating inquiries, applications, and registration for AUC students wishing to pursue summer and graduate study abroad programs. Handle the academic advising and registration for international students.  

Principal Accountabilities
Undergraduate Exchange and Study Abroad Program:

  • Handle AUC exchange program with 80+ with international universities and institutions
  • Advise AUC students on all study abroad and exchange programs
  • Handle all correspondence (memos, faxes, emails) and accounts related to the study abroad and exchange program
  • Update the international programs and exchange and study abroad websites with deadlines and application procedures for applying to the program
  • Maintain updated lists for incoming and outgoing students
  • Deliver the information session, post nomination orientation and parents orientation
  • Handle the returning panel in the parents orientation session
  • Respond to students' inquiries pertaining to travel through email or in person
  • Responsible for the announcement, selection, recruitment and interview process for students participating in the study abroad and exchange program
  • Assist students in preparing the required documentation to be sent to host institutions
  • Settle down payments of students for semester abroad fees
  • Work closely with coordinators at partner institutions to complete documents required and acceptance packages and to facilitate students’ academic and non-academic experience
  • Provide guidance, advising and support to students throughout the study abroad and exchange process
  • Compile a database of AUC faculty for the interviewing process
  • Coordinate with AUC faculty members for the interviewing panel
  • Interview and placing students
  • Organize the study abroad and exchange fair and international workshops to better guide students and give them comprehensive information related to courses, housing, living expenses, transportation, insurance and meal plan
  • Coordinate with different offices to award the study abroad and exchange scholarship students
  • Meet visitors from international institutions
  • Perform any other related tasks as assigned

Graduate Study Abroad and Exchange Program:

  • Maintain the graduate-level exchanges, with particular emphasis on providing information and advice to AUC graduate students who will study abroad for a semester, and maintaining their records
  • Responsible for handling AUC graduate exchange program affiliated universities
  • Responsible for the academic advising of the graduate study abroad and exchange program

Summer Study Abroad:

  • Assist in maintaining records for AUC students intending to study abroad during the summer semester
  • Correspond with overseas summer programs regarding the programs and the status of AUC students; acceptances and withdrawals
  • Communicate directly with partner universities
  • Responsible for the academic advising of the summer study abroad program


Minimum Education Requirement: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline 
Experience: Seven to nine years of experience in a related area of work. 

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent command of English language
  • Perfect use of Microsoft office applications
