Abdulhadi H. Taher Endowed Scholarships 

The Abdulhadi H. Taher Endowed Scholarships provide full or partial support to Egyptian and Saudi Arabian students who demonstrate financial need and outstanding academic performance. The fund also includes housing for Saudi Arabian students or Egyptian students who live outside Cairo and Giza.

Armenian Evangelical Congregational Church of Cairo Endowed Scholarship

A scholarship to be awarded to worthy scholars of Armenian origin in need of financial assistance to enable them to pursue studies leading to undergraduate degrees.

Athletic Scholarship

This is an annual scholarship provided to a select number of students who participate in University-sponsored sports. Students who are awarded this scholarship receive a partial reduction in their tuition for a maximum of 15 credit hours per semester.

AUC Alumni Endowed Scholarships 

Established in 1983 to partially support Egyptian and Arab children of AUC alumni. Selection is based on the student's academic merit and financial need.

The AUC Liberal Arts Undergraduate Scholarship 

Building upon AUC’s commitment to internationalization and to offer exceptional liberal arts education in a cross-cultural environment and promoting liberal arts education in Egypt. AUC provides five full/partial opportunities to Thanaweya Amma graduates from five governorates in Upper Egypt: Assiut, Beni Suef, Minya, Sohag and Fayoum. Selected students benefit from AUC’s liberal arts education, diverse majors and extensive student-life services.

OC-AUC Scholarship 

AUC partnered with Orascom Construction Limited to offer the OC-AUC scholarship program. The scholarship provides full-tuition annual scholarships to public or private high school graduates from eight governorates in Upper Egypt: Assiut, Bani Suef, Minya, Sohag, Fayoum, Qena, Luxor, and Aswan.

Sawiris Undergraduate Scholarship for Students with Disabilities

Sawiris Foundation for Social Development and The American University in Cairo initiated the Sawiris Undergraduate Scholarship for Students with Disabilities to expand opportunities to academically outstanding students with disabilities by admitting them to the AUC in order to create a nationwide network of youth who are well-educated and passionate about their country’s development.

The Cultural Scholarship

The Hosna Rachid Partial Scholarship

Established in 2021 to partially support the tuition and fees of two Egyptian students (a male and a female), majoring in any discipline. The student should demonstrate sufficient merit and financial need.

Wadi Degla Endowed Scholarship Fund for Student-Athletes 

Established in 2015 to fully support one Egyptian student who demonstrates an outstanding secondary school academic record and an outstanding record, locally or internationally, in one of the following sports: soccer, squash, basketball, swimming, or track and field.

How to Apply?

  • Candidates must be aware of all vacant scholarships focusing on the criteria of each scholarship to know the suitable opportunities in the assigned semester.
  • Candidates will be required to fill and submit only one interest form where they can choose up to five scholarships of interest. Note that the interest form is submitted only once and will not be edited.
  • Candidates will receive an email to start the application process, by filling out an admission form in case they have not applied for admission till the current date. 
  • After submitting an AUC admission application, candidates are expected to receive an email from the Admissions Office with an AUC student ID number. 
  • Candidates will use this ID number to create an account on Self-Service Banner (SSB) and to access the scholarship application.   
  • Candidates must fill all the sections in the scholarship application and upload the required documents, then press Submit.
  • Candidates who open the application after submission to edit or add any information must make sure to click the “submit” button again so that the application status would be “complete”.
  • The deadline to submit the scholarship application for the fall 2021 semester is June 15, 2021  
  • Required documents: 
  • Two recommendation letters.
  • Proof of extracurricular activities. 
  • For Athletic scholarship only: (School competitions are not accepted) official letter issued by the game federation, approved and stamped by the concerned sports union, the Supreme Council of Youth and Sports, and the Olympic committee.
