Vacant Scholarships

Building upon AUC’s commitment to internationalization and to offer exceptional liberal arts education in a cross-cultural environment and promoting liberal arts education in Egypt, the AUC liberal arts undergraduate scholarship will offer exceptional partial and full undergraduate scholarships to students from Egypt, the region and the United States to study humanities and social sciences.

Eligibility:

  • Must demonstrate outstanding academic qualifications
  • Meet AUC's admission requirements
  • Demonstrate financial need
  • Must be interested in majoring in one of the following fields of study at AUC: anthropology, arts, Arab and Islamic civilizations, Egyptology, English and comparative literature, history, psychology, philosophy, political science and sociology

AUC launched the Public School Scholarship Fund (PSSF) in 1990, to expand opportunities to academically outstanding and financially disadvantaged students. Selection of finalists is based on high academic achievement, need and geographic diversity. Supported by both individuals and corporations, the PSSF has graduated more than 280 students, who attended public schools and who have demonstrated exceptional academic potential while at AUC.

Today, over 100 PSSF recipients are enrolled at AUC; over 30 of them are supported by individual and corporate donors, while the remaining students are awarded scholarships funded by AUC.

Eligibility

  • Apply for admission at AUC before the assigned deadline for the Fall or Spring semesters. 
  • Must be Egyptian students graduating from public schools (not including language schools), experimental, STEM and Nile schools
  • Have an outstanding secondary school academic record
  • Demonstrate financial need
  • Meet AUC admission requirements

The Abdulhadi H. Taher Endowed Scholarships provide full or partial support to Egyptian and Saudi Arabian students who demonstrate financial need and outstanding academic performance. The fund also provides housing for Saudi Arabian students or Egyptian students who live outside Cairo and Giza.

This is an annual scholarship provided to a select number of students who participate in University-sponsored sports. Students who are awarded this scholarship receive up to 15 percent reduction in their tuition for a maximum of 15 credit hours per semester. 

Eligibility:

  • Students must demonstrate financial need
  • Students must submit their "athletic resume" to the Office of Athletics 
  • Students must be registered for a minimum of 12 credits per semester

This is a scholarship awarded every fall semester. Students awarded this scholarship receive up to 15 percent reduction in their tuition.

  • Students must submit a personal statement of their cultural contributions and activities supported by official documents that can be verified
  • Students must be registered for a minimum of 12 credits per semester

The Student Union (SU) Scholarship

This is a partial scholarship that is awarded every fall and spring semester for continuing students. 

Eligibility:

  • Students must demonstrate financial need
  • Students must submit a personal statement for the previous semester
  • Students must be registered for a minimum of 12 credits per semester

The Hadhramout Foundation Scholarship will support a total of 15 high achieving undergraduate Yemeni students, to pursue their studies in one of the majors offered at AUC. Students need to demonstrate academic merit and financial need.

Ten students will be supported in the following fields: 

  • School of Humanities and Social Sciences
  • School of Business and/or School of Global Affairs and Public Policy

Five Students will be supported in the following fields:

  • School of Sciences and Engineering

Applicants must fulfill the below criteria:

  • Yemeni National
  • Register for this scholarship with the Hadhramout Foundation
  • For continuing students; to maintain the scholarship, the recipient must maintain a GPA of 3.0
  • Financial need

The scholarship covers:

  • Tuition and fees
  • Housing for a double room
  • Monthly stipend for 12 months

Established in 2015 to support Arab students (females or males) in the fields of basic science such as mathematics, engineering, physics, chemistry, biology, energy and petroleum, water and environment, economics and development. Acceptance will be based on merit and financial need. 

The scholarship will cover:

  • Tuition and fees
  • Monthly allowance to cover living expenses, accommodation, books, medical insurance and transportation

Established in 2015 to provide tuition and accommodation to a total of 10 outstanding Egyptian students who come from outside of Cairo. Selection is based on student's academic merit and financial need.

Eligibility:

  • Be enrolled in thanawiya amma in the AY 2019 - 2020
  • Public or private national high school graduate with demonstrated financial need
  • An active member in school activities or in the local community
  • Adequate English-language skills as demonstrated by the IELTS/iBT exam  
  • Adequate communication skills
  • Orientation and commitment to public service
  • Potential for further leadership development

A scholarship to be awarded to worthy scholars of Armenian origin in need of financial assistance to enable them to pursue studies leading to undergraduate degrees.

Established in 1994 to cover tuition, housing, board, textbooks, medical insurance and local medical services for up to four Yemeni students who meet the University requirements for admission. The scholarship covers tuition for a regular academic load of 15 credit hours per semester in the fall and spring semesters. Overloads, minors as well as attending summer and winter sessions can only be processed after the approval of AUC's Office of Student Financial Affairs and Scholarships.

Eligibility:

  • Applicants Students must have Yemeni citizenship
  • Applicants must have completed a full-time high school in Yemen
  • Applicants must demonstrate financial need

This is a partial scholarship awarded every semester for continuing students that will fund the cost of three credit hours of instruction in a degree program at AUC. Students must demonstrate financial need, have had clean conduct and academic integrity record for the previous semester, have a minimum GPA of 2.0, be registered as a full-time student and demonstrate a positive contribution to AUC's tobacco-free initiative.
