Thanks to the generosity of our donors, AUC offers scholarship opportunities supported by individuals and corporations. These remarkable awards from donors have allowed AUC to recruit and educate outstanding and eligible students who come from different cities and educational backgrounds.

Apache Corporation Endowed Scholarship

Established in 2010 to provide partial scholarships to two academically outstanding Egyptian students majoring in petroleum and energy engineering. Selection is based on financial need and academic merit.

Students who are in their sophomore or junior year (defined as having earned not less than 30 credit hours and not more than 90 credit hours) and enrolled in the School of Sciences and Engineering with a declared major in petroleum and energy engineering are eligible to receive the scholarship. Students should also have a minimum GPA of 3.0, which should be maintained.

The return on the fund will be used to cover part of the tuition, fees, insurance and bus transportation costs for two students.

AUC Alumni Endowed Scholarships

Awarded to Arab and Egyptian children of AUC alumni. Selection is based on the student's academic merit and financial need.

AUC Centennial Endowed Scholarship Fund

This scholarship supports students with financial need and academic merit.

Gretchen and David Welch Scholarship   

To partially support undergraduate students in perpetuity. Selection of the recipient(s) will be based on the student's academic merit and financial need. The fund will cover part of the tuition of the students studying Islamic art, architecture, urban planning, and visual or theatre arts.

Hisham Ezz El-Arab Endowed Scholarship

The Hisham Ezz El-Arab Endowed Scholarship was established in 2010 as a partial scholarship to a talented and dedicated undergraduate student.

Students who are in their junior year at AUC (defined as having earned not less than 60 credit hours and not more than 90 credit hours at the time) are eligible to receive the partial scholarship and be designated as the Hisham Ezz Al-Arab scholarship.

The applicant should be a candidate for:

  • Bachelor's of accounting with a GPA of 3.7 (honors)
  • Bachelor's of business administration with a GPA of 3.7 (honors)
  • Bachelor of Arts (majoring in economics) with a GPA of 3.7 (honors)

A committee will determine the deserving recipient. Preference will be given to students who demonstrate leadership in extracurricular student activities.

Nora Jasmin Abousteit Scholarship

To partially support undergraduate students preferably females in perpetuity. Selection of the recipient(s) will be based on the student's academic merit and financial need. The fund will cover part of the tuition of the students.

Shell Egypt Endowed Scholarship

To partially support up to two undergraduate students in the Department of Petroleum and Energy Engineering at AUC. AUC will award the scholarship to students meeting a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.4 and demonstrating financial need, provided that they are not current recipients of other scholarships.

Teresa C. Barger Scholarship  

The fund will partially support undergraduate preferably Egyptian male students in perpetuity. Selection of the recipient(s) will be based on the student's academic merit and financial need. The fund will cover part of the tuition of the students.

The Student Union Scholarship (SU)

To partially support undergraduate students. The recipients should demonstrate financial need and academic merit and should also be involved in some Office of Student Life (OSL) sponsored clubs. The OSL would verify the student's affiliation. The assessment is based on the activities of the previous semester. The scholarship supports students for one semester.

1. Students must demonstrate financial need

2. Students must submit a personal statement for the previous semester

3. Students must be registered for a minimum of 12 credits per semester

The Palestinian Endowed Scholarships

To provide partial/full support for qualified and talented Palestinian students to study at AUC. Students must demonstrate financial need and academic merit.

The Palestinian Endowed Scholarship is supported by the following funds:

  • Mohammad Abughazaleh '67 Endowed Palestinian scholarship: To support deserving and talented Palestinian students. Selection is based on the student's academic merit and financial need.
  • Riad Kamal Palestinian Endowed scholarship: Provide partial support to five Palestinian students. Selection is based on the student's academic merit and financial need
  • Taher Family Endowed scholarships: To support Palestinian students based on their financial needs and Academic Merit. 
  • Wafiya El Hassany '48, '50 Endowed scholarships: Awarded on the basis of academic merit and financial need to one Egyptian male student and one female student with priority to Palestinian women.
  • Wasef Jabsheh '67 Jordanian - Palestinian Endowed scholarship: To provide partial support to two students from Jordan or Palestine. Selection is based on the student's academic merit and financial need.

The scholarship will cover:

Full/partial tuition and fees.

Wadi Degla Endowed Scholarship Fund for Student Athletes 

Selected candidate should fulfill the following criteria:


• Applicants should be Egyptians with no dual nationalities
• Applicants should be graduates from any private or public school located in Egypt (this includes language and international schools)
• Applicants should have an outstanding secondary school academic record
• Applicants should meet AUC academic admission requirements at the year of applications
• Applicants should have an outstanding record, locally or internationally, in one of the following sports: Soccer, Squash, Basketball, Swimming, or Track and Field
• Applicants should commit to play in AUC team alongside his / her original sports club in his/her designated sport
• Applicants must maintain a satisfactory academic record and a satisfactory sports record during his/her study at AUC
• Applicants must maintain an academic load of a minimum of 12 credit hours and a maximum of 15 credit hours (18 credit hours in case of engineering major) per fall and spring semesters. Summer academic load is an option of a maximum of 3 credit hours (6 credit hours in case of engineering major)

Zeid Family Scholarship  

Partially support two undergraduate (non-engineering) students for four years. Selection of the recipient(s) will be based on the student's academic merit and financial need. The Fund will cover part of the tuition of the students.
