The Pharco MBA Fellowship Program
The American University in Cairo (AUC) is proud to announce the availability of the Pharco MBA Fellowship for outstanding Egyptian students interested in furthering their education in the business field. The fellowship is designed to support financially needy students who excel academically, are leaders amongst their peers, and are making positive impact in their communities. Established in 2016, the Pharco MBA Fellowship will equip future industrial leaders with superior business management and decision making skills.
Pharco Pharmaceuticals, the first of the Pharco Corporation Group founded by Hassan Abbas Helmy, was launched in 1987 as the third private pharmaceutical company in Egypt with 100 employees and 25 million in sales. Pharco Corporation is a group of nine health care companies operating in the pharmaceutical field for development, manufacturing, marketing, distributing and exporting of a comprehensive array of branded and generic drugs, together with a rising number of licensed pharmaceutical products.
- Open to Egyptian nationals
- A bachelor degree from an accredited university
- Minimum qualifications of an overall grade point average of 3.2 on a 4.0 scale
- Meet AUC graduate admissions requirements, including submission of AUC graduate application and needed documents
- Submit an International TOEFL iBT exam score or academic IELTS exam score as per the cut-off scores for AUC graduate admissions
- Financial need
The fellowship is awarded for one year and subject to review every semester. Renewal for a second year is contingent upon satisfactory academic progress.
The fellowship covers:
- Tuition fees
- Student services and activities fees
Responsibilities of Fellows
New students must maintain full-time status of a minimum of nine credit hours per semester and be committed to finish the degree in a maximum of two years and a half.
By accepting this externally funded fellowship, the fellowship recipient agrees to respond to any reporting requests received from AUC by the deadlines communicated to the awarded fellow. This may include a request for photos or academic progress information to be used for reporting purposes, or attendance of fellowship events including any meetings or events with donors as requested by the relevant university entities.
