This boot camp promotes civic engagement and social responsibility among both the university students and children. This is achieved through building capacity and qualifying youth to be the transmitters of what they have learned to another target group, for boys and girls ages 7 to 12. The boot camp themes revolve around three social and environmental issues: green environment, bullying and people with disabilities. Participants will interact with AUC students in creative activities to explore these themes and present their learnings.

About Your Instructor:
Ali Awni is professor of practice at the AUC School of Business and director of the John D. Gerhart Center for Philanthropy, Civic Engagement and Responsible Business. He teaches operations management courses at the undergraduate and MBA level. His areas of research are in applications of operations management in Egypt, and for SMEs in particular, operations and supply chain innovations for base of the pyramid, upgrading of operations for Egyptian exporters and suppliers’ selection and evaluation. He teaches operations and supply chain management courses for EMBA and executive education in Egypt, Romania and Germany.
