Alwan Afriquia

Colorful patched cloth

Taking your five senses around Africa!

Alwan Afriquia takes young learners on an exploration journey of our beautiful continent!

Founded around principles of peace education, this bootcamp is designed around nine African core values that shape different aspects of our culture. By learning African songs, tasting African recipes, exploring African nature and engaging with tales from around the continent, participants will discover how African cultures are very rich and diverse yet quite similar!

The program combines a variety of learning methods, such as learning through arts (visual and performing), research, discussions and reflections, multi-sensory experiences, project-based learning as well as peer learning. The program includes one field trip and ends with a personal project that reflects participants learning using artistic means.

Alwan Afriquia is one of Alwan wa Awtar’s flagship programs and will be delivered by experienced Alwan wa Awtar facilitators.

Note: This bootcamp is offered in Arabic.
