In 2008, AUC made history with the establishment of a new “designed from scratch” campus in New Cairo, laying the groundwork for a vibrant future of spirited intellectual dialogue, leading innovation and community building. This groundbreaking move set the tone for the evolution of a diverse and robust University community dedicated to serving Cairo, Egypt and the region.
On November 12, 2018 AUC is celebrating the 10th anniversary of its New Cairo campus. Check out some facts about the campus and what makes it a special addition to the New Cairo community.
The New Cairo Campus was built to the highest international standards, while drawing from a number of cultural traditions reflective of our identity as Egypt’s global University. As we celebrate a remarkable 10 years since our journey from Tahrir Square, we are proud of all we have accomplished here, and we look forward to another decade of growth, service and institutional excellence.
Francis J. Ricciardone, AUC’s president
Few universities in the world have the chance to do what AUC is now doing. We are building an entirely new campus that began not long ago with a vision and a blank sheet of paper.
David Arnold, President of AUC 2003 - 2010
We will look back at the end of this decade, proud to have built this new campus and confident that future generations of Egyptians and Americans will be well served by what we have done.
John D. Gerhart, President of AUC 1998 - 2003
