Officer, Student Organizations, Office of Student Life (10001237)

Reports to: Associate Director, Student Organizations and Services

Purpose: Works closely with the Office of Advancement and Communications and the Office of Legal Affairs in regards to sponsorship for student activities. Advise and develop student leaders on various leadership and organizational skills and assist with other ongoing student projects of the office on and off campus. Oversee, coach and facilitate the training sessions, events, and organizations activities, as well as collaborate with the associate director in promoting social responsibility and civic engagement among the AUC student body through the organized activities. Produce and analyze statistical data and information related student organizations so as to assess and improve the performances of the programs. Assist in planning, organizing and coordinating the work of student organizations, and weekly workshops.

 

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Guides students with regard to benefit packages/sponsorship proposals offered to sponsors for all of Student Life (SL) clubs and organizations.

  • Responsible for conducting sponsorship training to student organizations.

  • Responsible for guiding students with respect to the feasibility of sponsoring events and activities, potential sponsors, and general policies.

  • Responsible for meeting different sponsors and drafting sponsorship legally binding contracts in accordance with AUC policies, and in line with the approved benefit packages for all SL clubs and organizations.

  • Liaison between all the concerned departments such as the Office of Advancement and Communications and the Office of Legal Affairs

  • Monitors sponsor actions on campus during special events and regular academic days and taking necessary actions in case of any violation according to the AUC policy.

  • Plan and facilitate the logistics of the social, cultural, and recreational activities of a number of student organizations according to university policies and office regulations

  • Coaching on day-to-day basis student organizations

  • Assist in preparing annual budgets for student organizations with an amount that exceeds EGP 1,000,000 annually

  • Planning and identifying appropriate conferences for student leaders to attend. Serving as an advisor and university representative in these functions

  • Collaborate with faculty advisors of the respective student organizations, staff, students and the external community to facilitate and maximize the yearlong programs

  • Producing and compiling progress reports by gathering and analyzing information to assess and improve the performances of designated student organizations

  • Maximize the activities and events for student organizations while adhering to the mission of the organizations and the university policies and procedures

  • Performing other tasks as assigned by the associate director

 

Requirements:

Minimum Education Requirement: At least a bachelor degree

Experience: minimum of eight years of previous experience with four years in the relevant field

Skills:

  • Self-motivated and hard worker

  •  Able to deal with students from different backgrounds

  • Ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community

  • Able to works under pressure

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Excellent computer knowledge

  • Mastering both English and Arabic languages
