Manager, Marketing and Communications, Strategic Enrollment Management, School of Continuing Education (50017376)

Reports to:  Executive Director, Strategic Enrollment Management (SCE)

Purpose: The job holder will be responsible for managing the staff and activities of the marketing unit and as well guide the marketing budget in coordination with the executive director. The job holder will also be responsible for maintaining the school’s online presence on social media and the web and different other mediums. The marketing and communications manager will co-develop and adhere to the annual school communications strategy and calendar capturing SCE’s activities, news and updates, and ensure a high presence on the web and social media arena. Work is based on flexible and extended hours in all SCE venues.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Develop and deliver creative marketing and communication strategies, plans and approaches to help market and position SCE to attract students and potential partners
  • Plan in coordination with executive director, the annual marketing and communications strategies for SCE’s events, and activities for different audiences
  • Develop an offline and online digital strategy
  • Manage the work schedule and tasks for all marketing activities with unit staff, ensuring that all the school’s requirements are covered
  • Oversee and manage social media accounts, customer engagement and media and web presence
  • Manage and coach marketing and communication team to keep up breast of emerging marketing trends and directions
  • Conduct staff annual evaluations, as per SCE policies and procedures; evaluate all other aspects of the unit, suggests actions based on results
  • Create pivots and iterations to enhance marketing strategy
  • Manage SCE’s communication guidelines and their enforcement with stakeholders
  • Maintain and outsource visuals, photography and videography for SCE’s needs
  • Ensure the brand meets expectations through monitoring marketing trends and partner and followers feedback
  • Oversees the maintenances of a consistent visual image on social media and the web sites including maintenance of templates and image archives
  • Participates in the overall design structuring of the websites ensuring they are accessible from a variety of different environments producing a consistent visual image
  • Promotes community awareness of school marketing programs, terms and events
  • Provides coordination and problem resolution for customer complaints on web and social media
  • Performs detailed monthly analysis on marketing efforts, and presents reports and recommendations to the director
  • Attend and represent SCE in events and conferences as needed
  • Assist the executive director in any other marketing and communication needs

Requirements:

Minimum Education Requirement:  Bachelor degree in related fields, preferably integrated marketing communications or business-related discipline required.

Experience:

  • Five to ten years of relevant work experience
  • Previous experience in business development, digital media buying, Facebook business manager and manipulating graphics and videos

Skills:

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills of Publisher is a plus
  • Good understanding of web‐based graphic design and layout
  • Ability to evaluate new and evolving website technologies
  • Knowledge and understanding of internet operations and functionality and of a wide range of internet programming and design tools
  • Research and analytical skills
  • knowledge of MAC operations and familiarity with the following software: Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, adobe flash player and adobe acrobat
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively work with a wide range of individuals and constituencies in a diverse community
  • Self‐managed, self‐starter with a demonstrated ability to work independently given the assignment of responsibility; demonstrated aptitude and attitude for learning new tasks quickly and efficiently
  • Excellent analytical and computer skills required; proficient with Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, Powerpoint and typing proficiency
