Manager, Industry Partnership, University Centers for Career Development Project, Career Center (Grant Position)

Reports to: Deputy Chief of Party, University Centers for Career Development (UCCD) Project, Career Center

Purpose: The job holder will lead the program efforts in developing strong partnerships with the private sector to identify the job market needs and industry engagement opportunities with University Centers for Career Development in career-related functions, and to generate employment opportunities for youths. S/he will work closely with the chief of party on University Centers for Career Development’s sustainability plan and support University Centers for Career Development staff in its implementation.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Develop linkages and partnerships with the private sector and employers in collaboration with project staff
  • Provide technical expertise and input into the development of the University Centers for Career Developments including the co-development of market-relevant products and services
  • Work with University Centers for Career Development staff and the chief of party to start up and maintain University Centers for Career Development at up to twenty public universities in Greater Cairo, Upper Egypt and the Delta region
  • With the support of the International Labor Organization and project staff, oversee the establishment and maintenance of the system for mapping and analyzing labor market needs in each of the regions in which the project works
  • Oversee the formal training and on-going coaching on industry analysis, and developing capacity-building plans for University Centers for Career Development staff
  • Work with University Centers for Career Development staff to ensure a successful transition of these centers into sustainable career centers that function as research units
  • Advise University Centers for Career Development and partners on the development and implementation of student and graduate tracking system
  • Conduct ongoing monitoring and evaluation of career centers’ work
  • Contribute to program reporting
  • Ensure that all activities are in compliance with the United States Agency for International Development and AUC applicable policies and regulations

Requirements:

Minimum Education Requirement(s): Degree in business, economics, human resources, education or equivalent is required.

Experience:

  • Minimum of seven years of experience in a similar function or in workforce development
  • Proven ability to initiate and establishing public-private partnerships
  • Experience in working with stakeholders from various industries, private/public sectors and non-profit organizations

  • Good command of English and Arabic
  • Good computer skills (MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
