Senior Manager, SCE Special Projects (School of Continuing Education)

Reports to: Dean of the School of Continuing Education (SCE)

Purpose: The job holder carries out a wide variety of strategic and high-level activities and projects for the School of Continuing Education. This includes proposal writing, advising on strategic planning, speech writing, event preparation, supporting business development efforts, representing the school at high-level functions and developing detailed plans for the expansion of SCE programs, facilities and staff. It will also include managing the flow and analysis of relevant enrollment, budgetary and other data. This position reports directly to the dean.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Provide strategic direction for the school's programs and activities
  • Identify business and industry issues that need to be addressed through the School of Continuing Education
  • Establish partnerships with leading school providers worldwide
  • Leverage existing and new revenue generation opportunities for the School of Continuing Education
  • Collaborate with faculty and senior management for short and long term impact for the different activities
  • Conduct economic analysis and market studies to increase the market penetration rate
  • Promote the school's programs globally
  • Improve the processes and service deliverables including regular revision of all school of continuing education processes and logistics for better serving programs’ participants and improving on process efficiency and to maximize synergies, leverage partnerships and stakeholder engagement
  • Develop in collaboration with the manager of decision support, the planning and budgeting process and financial analysis for the school
  • Support the school's wide efforts and activities to strengthen, integrate and expand the internationalization aspects
  • Incubate new initiatives that build on areas of school strengths
  • Structure stakeholder engagement in the school for widest impact alumni and corporate contacts
  • Support marketing programs and increase regional presence through structured business development activities
  • Ensure consistency of message and quality communication channels across the school
  • Rationalize resources optimization across all units within the school
  • Attend various committees/meetings at the school and University level whenever required
  • Performs any other related tasks as assigned by the dean

Requirements:

Minimum Education Requirement:  

  • University degree in business administration or a relevant field
  • Master’s degree is an asset

Experience:

  • A minimum of 15 years of experience, preferably in communications, business development or project management

 Skills:

  • Should have vision, imagination, and energy, possessing superior communication skills
  • Ability to articulate a compelling message to diverse audiences
  • Experience in proposal writing
  • A record demonstrating creative thinking
  • High level of organizational and management skills
  • Well-developed skills in assessing organizational effectiveness
  • Identifying areas of strength as well as needs for improvement
  • Very good English language speaking/writing is a must
  • Arabic language speaking/writing is a plus
