Officer, International Programs, International Programs Office (10001153)

Reports to: Director, International Programs

Purpose: Assist the director of international programs in managing the incoming short-term special academic programs and in coordinating university visits hosting old, new and potential partners. Assist in managing new international initiatives and events acting as the single point of contact for these events. 

Principal Accountabilities
 

Special Academic Programs:

  • Host incoming short-term (one to eight week) academic programs, including arranging the logistics of housing, lectures, and classroom facilities. 
  • Arrange for and manage study visits to AUC by special groups from foreign universities, including establish contracts for each visit, budget their visits and manage the budget, arrange lectures, lecturers and classroom space,  help arrange housing and food services during the visit.
  • Facilitate visits to AUC by representatives of foreign universities, including providing campus tours for such visitors.

International Events and Initiatives:

  • Host conferences, summits, competitions and lectures that promote for internationalization and globalization leading to academic enhancement of AUC students.
  • Arrange and manage events by reserving lecture halls, coordinating with lecturers, compiling presentations and lectures.
  • Organize webinars to integrate in international events.
  • Promote events to AUC students and correspond to their queries. 
  • Act as the main coordinator and single point of contact between lecturers and students.
  • Facilitate visits to AUC by representatives of foreign universities, including providing campus tours for such visitors.

Undergraduate/Graduate/Summer Study Abroad:

  • Assist in managing and maintaining the undergraduate/graduate and summer exchange and study abroad programs.  
  • Assist in corresponding with overseas summer programs regarding the programs and the status of AUC students (i.e. acceptances and withdrawals).
  • Assist AUC students in their preparation for departure (visa, travel) and the pre-departure orientation.
  • Help to design relevant publications and announcements. 

University Visits:

  • Manage and organize international university visits. 
  • Assist in compiling itineraries, set meetings, coordinating with security along with all other logistics.
  • Arrange for gifts to visitors.
  • Perform any other related tasks as assigned.

Requirements: 
Minimum Education Requirement: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline. 
Experience: Seven to nine years of experience with one to two years of experience in a related area of work. 
Skills: 

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Excellent command of English language. 
  • Perfect use of Microsoft office applications.
