Developer I, Workflow Applications - University Academic Computing Technologies (50006654)

Reports to: Director, UACT 

Purpose: The holder of this technical job applies specialized knowledge to conceptualize, design, develop, uni-test, configure and implement campus-wide workflows, using cutting-edge tools and technologies. The jobholder is responsible for defining the areas of need and recommending solutions for the AUC community. He/she identifies a road map for future implementations and is knowledgeable about the latest technologies in this field.

Principal Accountabilities: 

  • Identifies a road map for AUC workflows
  • Communicates with different systems owners for integration points
  • Communicates with different department heads to identify areas of need
  • Supervises the development, implementation and update AUC workflows
  • Research and Development and technology tracking
  • Responsible to make sure that support of automated workflows for the AUC community is at a superior level
  • Verifies that required close down activities are completed before closing service requests
  • Coordinate workload allocation of material handlers
  • Confirms completion of essential quality checks and measurements
  • Develops checklists necessary for validation activities
  • Validates work requests for completeness, accuracy, compliance to established standards and correct alignment to portfolio project records
  • Verifies the client and company have obtained appropriate work authorization
  • Monitors and analyzes, on a proactive basis, routine queue data to ensure achievement of contract and internal service level agreements and project commitments
  • Provide input on software development related to the translation workflow

Minimum education requirement:  BSc/ BA  Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology
Experience:  Minimum of four years of experience including two in the same field


  • Capable of leading a team 
  • Knowledge of development tools of workflow apps 
  • Good communication skills 
  • Good organizational, time management and analytical skills
  • Have the ability to work and contribute in team projects.
  • Be able to conduct organized research in a chosen domain
