Welcome to The American University in Cairo! You are about to begin one of the most exciting and challenging experiences of your life -- living and studying in Cairo, Egypt. During your time at AUC, you will be in an environment of different cultures, people, events and ideas. Living in a student residence hall makes it easy to meet new people and adapt to a new environment. We strongly recommend that international students reserve housing for the first semester. Egyptian students from other cities or whose parents live abroad, as well as international students from around the world, choose to live in student residences where they have the opportunity to participate in an active socio-educational program and be part of the living-learning community.
The American University in Cairo offers two residence facilities for students. The Zamalek Building is located in one of central Cairo’s most popular residential districts and the on-campus residence, located at AUC New Cairo, is a state-of-the-art facility opened in Spring 2009.
