Our Mission
We seek to ensure that AUC community members and visitors across both campuses experience a safe, healthy and secure environment. The Office of Public Safety provides comprehensive, state-of-the-art services through trained professionals who work according to international standards on integrated security, medical and environmental health and safety programs.
The public safety office consists of three departments:
1. Security Department
The security department ensures the provision of comprehensive security services both inside and outside of AUC's main campuses and attached facilities.
The security department works closely in cooperation with the Ministry of Interior in ensuring safety outside campuses and attached facilities. Security services can extend outside campuses and facilities to personal incidents where AUC members receive support at police stations or whenever they seek emergency response.
AUC's security employees are well-trained to provide security services inside both campuses and attached facilities. We have teams that work on both access control and internal patrol.
Access control security equipment is used at access gates and CCTV camera systems are used to provide surveillance in parking lots and inner campus parameters.

2. Environmental Health and Safety Department
The environmental health and safety (EHS) department provides a wide range of services to the AUC community, including but not limited to training (fire fighting, risk assessment, safe driving, ladder safety, equipment handling, personal protective equipments, etc.), hazardous waste management, chemical safety, fire fighting, fleet safety, ergonomics, and more.
The EHS department coordinates multiple drills across the year in order to orient the AUC community on emergency response procedures.

3. Medical Services Department
The medical services department provides a variety of health care services through three clinics located at AUC New Cairo, AUC Tahrir Square, and the Zamalek Dormitory. The services include:
a. Primary health care services to the entire AUC community. Well-trained and certified healthcare professionals serve in outpatient clinics, specialized medical clinics, the rehabilitation clinic, medical laboratory, and the pharmacy.
b. Emergency medical services are provided locally in AUC clinics or through the AUC ambulance service to the nearest best quality hospitals.
c. Preventive medical services in the form of pre-placement physical exams, routine exams, fitness for duty exams, travel medicine, immunization services, water quality checks, food quality checks, etc.
d. First aid training programs are offered to the entire community.
