Petroleum and Energy Engineering
The petroleum and energy engineering department is one of the newest departments in the School of Science and Engineering. The program has been approved by the Ministry of Higher Education, the University Senate and the University President. Students were admitted to the general engineering year of the program in fall 2007.
In addition to fostering creative thinking and providing motivation for an ongoing learning experience, the program is tailored to develop the capabilities of students to work independently, adapt in multinational environment and acquire leadership qualities. Students are expected to possess a competitive edge in this fast growing market through knowledge of related environmental issues and resource management along with excellent communication, language, and IT skills. This approach is expected to produce ideal engineers as demanded by the industry.
