The Research Institute for a Sustainable Environment (RISE) of the American University in Cairo (AUC) is hosting the Second International Conference on Solar Energy Solutions for Electricity and Water Supply in Rural Areas. The conference will be held from October 12 to 15 at AUC New Cairo campus. This conference aims to showcase and discuss promising approaches and applications for different types of renewable energy as sustainable solutions for rural populations with no access to centralized power and water supply. The focus is on solar electricity and its economic applications for both village electrification and the supply of safe drinking water. Important Registration Information
Early bird registration is open until September 22, 2016 only. Ticket payments can be made online on this website or in cash at the Research Institute for a Sustainable Environment (RISE) office until October 5, 2016 on working days between 9 am and 3 pm. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org to make an appointment at least two days prior to your visit.
Please note that student rates are only available for conference participants who can present a valid student ID at the time of conference registration on the first day of the event. If you cannot present a valid student ID, you will be asked to pay the regular price.
The programs for the student workshop day at RISE and the excursion will be published by the end of August. Places for these two events are limited and tickets will be sold on a first come, first serve basis. Please note that the last opportunity to buy a ticket for the workshop or the excursion will be October 1, 2016.
