Guidelines for drivers and riders of the AUC bus service
The bus advisory committee has decided on guidelines that apply to drivers and riders of the AUC bus service. They are now official. To download them, click here.
Clarification about the change in the weekend bus schedule
The buses running on Saturday to and from the new campus will now only service five routes (Al-Maadi (R1), Heliopolis 2 (R3), Al-Zamalek (R9), Downtown campus / Tahrir (R12), El-Rehab (R14) but will continue to run at the very same hours as previously announced on October 12. This new weekend schedule will come into effect this Saturday, November 1.
- To New Campus: 10:40 am / 12:40 am / 3:40 pm
- From New Campus: 1:30 pm / 4:30 pm / 8:30 pm

AUC Bans Use of Skateboards and Other Similar Motorized / Nonmotorized Items on Campus
Effective immediately, AUC security will ban the use of skateboards, scooters, rollerblades or any other motorized / nonmotorized item on the New Campus. Enforcement of this ban is necessary because of the number of accidents which have occured to date and the university's overall commitment to provide a safe environment for all members of the AUC community.
Bus Transportation Advisory Committee Accident Report
The Family Corporation bus #3103 providing transport for AUC passengers departing from the new campus to Zamalek at 3:45PM on Monday, October 20, was involved in an accident with an agriculture tractor that was crossing 90 St. in the wrong direction at approximately 3:50 pm. More.

Weekend bus service
The weekend schedule of the bus service to and from the new campus has been amended and will come into effect this coming Saturday, October 11, 2008. There is no Friday bus service. More details.
Clarification about the bus service
As announced in News@AUC, the Fall 2008 bus schedule, which went into effect today, is posted on the bus service web site. A few routes experienced difficulty this morning when buses did not arrive as scheduled. The administration is working with the bus company to ensure that this does not happen again. Bus clarification on Route 6 Nasr City 2
Due to miscommunication between the bus company and AUC, the changes administered on the Route 6 Nasr City 2 bus line as of Wednesday 24, September, unfortunately caused some confusion for riders using that line. More.

You can find useful contact numbers and emails for the library at this link. During the month of Ramadan, the library is open from Sunday to Thursday from 8 am to 4 pm, and is closed on Friday and Saturday.

New pick-up point and new stop added to Route 6 Nasr City 2 bus line
The Route 6 Nasr City 2 bus line now starts from in front of the gate of Wonderland / Hadiq El Dawliya. It then makes two stops on its run to the new campus. The first is at Al-Amal Village, in front of SOS Al-Amal Village; the second at 90 Street, at the Shell Petrol station. More. Where to Get Your AUC ID on Campus
All part-time faculty, as well as part-time staff, assistants, auditors and alumni need to get their AUC ID at the new campus library, on the garden level, in Room G003. Full time faculty, full time staff as well as all students (returning and new) can get their AUC ID at the Dr. Hamza AlKholi Information Center, from the ID section, in Room P003, ext. 1541.
Parking Fees Cut
For this year only, the administration will reduce the parking fees by 50 percent for faculty, staff and students to LE 1500 per year / LE 750 per semester. There will be one parking lot (Gate 2) reserved for faculty and staff. All other lots will be open to anyone with a valid parking permit. All vehicles will be required to display a valid parking permit in order to park on campus beginning Sunday, September 28. For those who have already purchased a parking permit, details on how to obtain a refund will be announced in the next few days.

New Food Outlets Opening
Mercato Italiano is located near the School of Sciences and Engineering. Quick Market is located near Jameel Hall (BEC). The market sells soft drinks, water, juice and crackers. The second Cilantro outlet is located near the library.

Sports update
The sports complex on the new campus is still under construction. The target date for completion is the end of December, although some facilities such as the swimming pool may not be open until later in January. More.

Parking
Beginning
September 21, faculty and staff parking on
campus will be required to have a parking
permit. There are a limited number of parking
permits and they are available on a first-come
first-served basis. Sign up for a parking permit here.
Those wishing to purchase their parking
permit on the new campus should go directly to
the Office of Facilities and Operations, on the
Garden Level of the Administration building, in
Room G005.

Obtaining and
activating your AUC ID card Anyone who needs a new AUC
ID should go to Room P003 in the Dr. Hamza
Al Kholi Information Center. For staff and
faculty who already have their IDs, you will
need to have your ID activated to gain access to
your office. To have your card activated go to
Room G03 (Garden Level) in the
Administration Building. The office extension
number is 4114. Once a card is activated
you unlock the door to your office by
swiping it across the small scanner situated
above the door handle.
Clarification on
three bus pickup points 1/ Sakanat Al-Maadi Metro
in Al-Maadi This bus leaves from the
bus station on Road 87, near Sakanat Al-Maadi
Metro Station (Road 9).
2/ Al-Nadi Al-Ahly in
Nasr City 1 In the morning, this bus
leaves from the corner of Nasr Street, by the
fence of Al-Nadi Al-Ahli. It does NOT leave from
the main entrance gate of Al-Nadi Al-Ahly.
3/ Road 213 Stop in
Al-Maadi For faculty and staff
planning to take the bus from Road 213 - the bus
will leave from Victoria Square at the
intersection of Road 216, 213 and 210.
Inter-faith
designated areas AUC has
various carefully selected inter-faith areas for
the AUC community. Currently, and all through
the month of Ramadan, there is the terrace area
of the Hatem and Janet Mostafa Core Academic
Center. By the end of next week, the other
allocated rooftop areas will be situated in the
School of Humanities and Social Sciences, School
of Sciences and Engineering, and School of
Business, Economics and
Communication.
Additional spaces
will later be available in the Performing and
Visual Arts Center, Student Service Center (in
the Dr. Hamza Al Kholi Information Center),
Administration, and Campus Center. Finally, when
the construction of the sports complex, student
residences, and physical plant, is complete,
inter-faith areas will also be established in
those buildings.
Conveniently-located bathrooms for
ablution are located by each inter-faith area.
