The Department of Public Policy and Administration (PPAD) has been selected as a global host site for the 2018 NASPAA-Batten Student Simulation Competition scheduled to take place on Saturday, February 24, 2018. The topic for the 2018 competition is Pandemic Crisis Management and Global Health Security. The simulation will focus on the roles MPA and MPP graduates would have to play in the event of a pandemic outbreak of a deadly infectious disease. The competition will be conducted by NASPAA, the global association of graduate schools of public policy and administration, and programmed by the Frank Batten School of Leadership and Public Policy at the University of Virginia. NASPAA is holding this competition at 11 sites in the United States and five sites internationally. This is the first time NASPAA is holding this competition in the MENA region.
