A presentation of selected experiments in an effort to conceptualize the emerging possibilities of new media in education, with particular attention to creating a place for study and equality in a world of instruction and social reproduction, the reversal of the deep -seated factory model of pedagogy. Four particular periods of development will be presented in theory and practice: the pre -Web world of euphoric experimentation; the emergence of the Web and the closing of the constructivist window; the re-empowerment of the student in the sea of information; the surfacing of social media and the challenge of the present.
