Kellogg - AUC Executive Development Program (EDP)

meets the needs of a wide range of industries offering theory-driven knowledge and concrete strategies for achieving best outcomes. EDP prepares executives become more effective leaders and change agents in their work organization. Moreover, the program challenges senior executives and leaders with fresh ideas and enables building greater perspectives through exchanging best practices with a network of colleagues from around the world.
The 2-week Kellogg - AUC Executive Development Program will take place in Chicago. The program will be held from  5 to 18 July, 2009, at Kellogg campus in Evanston. The program’s intense design provides interactive learning and depth of coverage.

Who should attend

Senior level executives, general managers and vice presidents; the ideal candidate is a member of an executive committee, a senior functional head, a business unit head, or a senior member of an operating group.

Structure

The program is delivered through lectures, classroom discussions, business simulations, case preparation in groups, case presentations and feedback. Some background reading will also be required during this program.

Sponsership

All applicants to Kellogg-AUC EDP must be sponsored by either their organizations or the American Chamber of Commerce they are members of. A sponsor is someone who is familiar with the applicant’s background and motivations for attending EDP. Sponsorship letters should be emailed to info.ieei@aucegypt.edu by 28 May 2009 clearly stating name of applicant.

Admission Requirements

Selective enrollment of the most qualified and diverse group enhances the overall learning experience. The Admission Committee looks for applicants who have management responsibilities with diverse skills and experience. In seeking senior executives with demonstrated promise, the Admission Committee takes into account the candidate’s organizational level, management experience, career goals and ability to contribute to the program. The Admission Committee may require a telephone or personal interview as part of the admission process.

Certificates

Graduates of the Kellogg - AUC EDP will receive a joint Kellogg - AUC certificate and will enjoy many of the benefits of the AUC and Kellogg MBA alumni.

Program Fees

The fee for the Kellogg-AUC EDP is US$15,000. This fee covers tuition, class materials, accommodation and most meals. Participants are responsible for their visa and travel arrangements to Cairo in May and to Chicago in July. Acceptance to the program will be provisional until participant has obtained visa to Egypt and to the US. Payment is due upon receipt of invoice. Please make checks payable to The American University in Cairo. Places will not be guaranteed until your payment is received. It is expected that applicants have their own health insurance valid in the US. Kellogg and AUC are not responsible for medical expenses incurred by participants during the program.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations made within 30 calendar days of the start date will receive full refund of the tuition fees. Cancellations made less than 30 days in advance will not receive a refund but may nominate an acceptable substitute or attend a future session of the program within one year. Cancellation requests must be received in writing.

Application Process

Application may be completed online. Confirmation of Acceptance will be sent upon receipt of the application form. Qualified candidates are admitted on a rolling, space-available basis and early application is encouraged. Deadline for application is 28 May 2009.
