Applicants must demonstrate evidence of their seriousness of purpose and potential to complete a rigorous language program successfully. A complete application form and one letter of recommendation must be submitted. Students whose native language is not English must demonstrate adequate English language proficiency. There is no required application fee. Since places in the program are limited and admission is on a rolling basis, it is advisable for the applicant to complete the application and arrange to have a recommendation letter sent to the appropriate AUC office well before the deadline.
Applications are as follows:
Fall semester only
(September - December): April 1
Spring semester only
(January - May): October 1
(June - July): March1
Upon admission, students must submit a detailed medical statement indicating that they are in good health and are physically and mentally fit to undertake a period of study in Egypt. An accepted student must have a valid passport and obtain a tourist visa from the Egyptian government for entry into Egypt.
Students who are attending the program for either a full year or single semester should file for a student visa to cover their period of study in Egypt after they have registered at AUC. Students in the summer program file for an extension of their tourist or student visa. AUC will assist students in this regard, but is not responsible if the Egyptian government denies a student a visa for any reason.
