Basiony Exhibitions, SEPT 23-NOV 20, 2012

The American University in Cairo celebrates the life and work of artist Ahmed Basiony with a large-scale memorial exhibition and events in three art institutions in Cairo. Ahmed Basiony was one of the most important contemporary Egyptian Artists, during the revolution in January 28th, 2011 Basiony was killed by snipers in Tahrir Square.

The Exhibitions will present Basionys innovative work in interactive digital art, sound art and performance as well as his influential work as an educator.

Sharjah Art Gallery Exhibition will present his project Thirty Days Running in the Place (2010) and videos taken by the artist during the revolution.
