Agent of Change

In this period of transition, entrepreneurship, innovation and leadership are the key to economic, social and political development. In fall 2011, Ayman Ismail ’95, ’97 was appointed to the Abdul Latif Jameel Endowed Professorship of Entrepreneurship in the School of Business. This professorship was established in 1993 by Mr. Yousef Jameel ’68 in honor of his father.
Assistant Professor, Ismail believes entrepreneurship is “the best way to kick-start the economy.” He feels “entrepreneurship is very important, especially during this transformational period, as it will help initiate new business ideas and create job opportunities to energize the economy.”
Professor Ismail earned his MBA and BSc in engineering from AUC and holds a PhD in international economic development and a Master’s degree in city planning and geographic information systems from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He is the co-founder and Managing Partner of Enovio, a management consulting firm operating in the US and the Middle East.
Endowed Professorships at AUC
AUC’s ongoing success depends on its ability to recruit, retain and develop a high quality of faculty. Endowed professorships are a vital resource in this goal. Endowments are contributions from individuals or corporations that are put into investment to provide permanent funding for professorships. These lasting gifts diversify learning opportunities beyond the limits of the normal budget.
