Deadlines for submission of the official university transcript:

Please note that a decision on credit transfer will be issued prior to enrollment only if official transcripts and all transfer evaluation requirements are submitted before the deadlines listed below.

March 31 for applications to Fall semester

November 1 for applications to Spring semester

Submission of the official university transcript after the deadlines above will critically affect the transfer credit evaluation time span.

Requirements

  • Official transcript of each post-secondary institution attended (including the current semester courses registered).
  • Official proof of accreditation/recognition by the Ministry of Higher Education and/or Supreme Council of Universities for universities operates outside US. Universities in the United States must be regionally accredited .
  • Catalog(s) of post-secondary institution(s) attended.
  • Official syllabi of all courses completed with minimum grade of "C" or equivalent (each page stamped).
  • Documents not in English must be accompanied by certified English translation.

Transfer Credit: Courses Completed at University Level

Applicants who are transferring from accredited post-secondary institutions and have taken courses at the university level. The university awards transfer credit to students who complete coursework in fields of study that are comparable to those offered by AUC, with a minimum grade of "C" from institutions operating in the USA, a minimum grade of "Good" from the National Universities of Egypt, and equivalent grade to a "C" (at AUC) from other institutions. The determination of transfer credit award occurs following the submission of an official academic transcript, the university catalog, as well as required course-related materials. Internships, Occupational, vocational, remedial coursework, and studies classified as less than first-year (Freshman) level by the sending institution or AUC are not transferable.

Studies completed more than five years prior to matriculation into the university are not transferable. Credits earned to satisfy the requirements of a previous degree are not considered for transfer credit.

The transferable coursework must have been completed in an accredited post-secondary institution.

Transfer Credit: Courses Completed at Secondary School Level  

Applicants who have completed Collegiate-Level studies with a grade equivalent to at least a “B” at AUC. Transfer credit or course exemption may be granted to students presenting additional advanced-level subjects, such as College Board Advanced Placement subjects in the American system, GCE A-levels in the British system, the Canadian CEGEP/OSSD, French Baccalaureat, Zeugnis der Allgemeinen Hochschulreife and the International Baccalaureate Diploma. Approval of requests will depend on the outcome of departmental evaluation, which may include holding appropriate subject examinations. Examinations are normally held prior to the first day of classes. Students should check their eligibility for taking the examinations and obtain the examination schedule and syllabi of the relevant AUC courses from the student service center on the Main Campus.
