Mo Ibrahim Graduate Fellowships
The American University in Cairo is pleased to announce that the Mo Ibrahim Foundation is providing opportunities for students of Nubian origin from Egypt and Sudan. Two full undergraduate and two graduate fellowships are available to those who have a working knowledge of the Nubian language and are willing to support the preservation and enrichment of Nubian culture and heritage. Applicants should met the university’s admission criteria and prove financial need.
Eligibility
- Students of Nubian origin from Egypt and Sudan
- Bachelor degree from an accredited university
- Minimum GPA of 3.0 or Gayyid Giddan
- iBT(Internet based TOEFL) or ELPET English test results
- Priority is given to applicants who demonstrate financial need
- Satisfactory scores in GMAT (required from applicants to the MBA) or in GRE (required from applicants to Economics, Economics of International Development and Journalism and Mass Communication)
Duration
Fellowships are awarded for two academic years and the intervening summer session.
Award
The fellowship covers:
- A waiver of tuition fees.
- A monthly stipend.
- Student services and activities fee.
- Graduation fees.
- Medical service and health insurance fees.
- A monthly housing allowance if needed for non-residents in Cairo

Selection is made in June.
