Arabic Language Fellowships are offered to already enrolled full-time international graduate students who need to take Arabic language classes in order to satisfy their degree requirements at AUC and would like to enroll in the Arabic Language Institute’s (ALI) full-time fall, spring or summer Arabic program.

Eligibility

• International graduate students.
• Full admission to a graduate program that requires Arabic language proficiency to satisfy degree requirement.
• A minimum overall GPA of 3.2 on a 4.0 scale, or equivalent.

Duration

• One semester or one summer session

Award

• A waiver of 50 percent of the tuition for the ALI intensive Arabic fall, spring or summer program.
• In support of their professional training, fellows are assigned five hours per week of related academic or administrative work.

To Apply

• Fellowship application forms are available from the Student Service Center or may be downloaded from our web site.
• Applications must be received by Student Service Center by April 1 for the fall semester, September 15 for the spring semester and February 1 for the ALI Intensive Arabic Summer Program.
• Selection of recipients is made about one month after each of the deadlines.
• Applicants for the ALI intensive Arabic program   must submit an admission application for the intensive Arabic program, in addition to the fellowship application.
