Mo Ibrahim Graduate Fellowships
The American University in Cairo is pleased to announce that the Mo Ibrahim Foundation is providing opportunities for students of Nubian origin from Egypt and Sudan. Two full undergraduate and two graduate fellowships are available to those who have a working knowledge of the Nubian language and are willing to support the preservation and enrichment of Nubian culture and heritage. Applicants should met the university’s admission criteria and prove financial need.
Eligibility
- Students of Nubian origin from Egypt and Sudan
- B.A. or B.Sc. degree with grade not less than "Very Good", an overall GPA of 3.2 on a 4.0 scale, or the equivalent.
- Satisfy AUC graduate admissions requirements, including submission of AUC graduate application, needed documents, and any needed additional test scores (GMAT for MBA applicants, GRE for Economics, Economics in International Development, and Journalism and Mass Communication applicants) as per the following AUC graduate admissions requirements http://www.aucegypt.edu/admissions/grad/Pages/process.aspx
- Submit an International TOEFL iBT exam score or an IELTS exam score as per the cut-off scores for AUC graduate admissions http://www.aucegypt.edu/admissions/undergrad/req/Documents/SSC_TOEFL_Aug_10.pdf.
Duration
Fellowships are awarded for two academic years and the intervening summer session.
Award
- A waiver of tuition fees.
- A monthly stipend.
- Student services and activities fee.
- Graduation fees.
- Medical service and health insurance fees.
- A monthly housing allowance if needed for non-residents of Cairo.
