In collaboration with King Abdullah University of Science and Technology; KAUST ( http://www.kaust.edu.sa ) which is an independent world-class, international graduate-level science and technology research university dedicated to inspiring a new age of scientific achievement in the Kingdom that will also benefit the region and the world, AUC has established a cutting-edge research partnership. As part of this collaboration AUC is offering fellowship opportunities to researchers from around the globe to work together to solve challenging scientific and technological problems. This fellowship promotes scientific researchers and is specifically designed for students who demonstrate special interest and excellence in research.

The KAUST  Graduate Fellowships are competitive awards offered to outstanding graduate students who wish to pursue full-time study in biotechnology, physics and engineering.

Eligibility

Full admission to the graduate program in biotechnology, physics or engineering
B.S. degree with a minimum overall GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, or its equivalent. 

Students who are already enrolled in one of these graduate programs and have a minimum GPA of 3.2 in their graduate courses. 

To retain the fellowship, the recipient must carry a full course load (nine graduate credits) and maintain a GPA of 3.2 or better. 

Demonstrate ability and interest in conducting research work and interacting with faculty and other graduate students in a laboratory environment. 

Fellows must not engage in other work activities outside the university. 


Duration

One semester, renewable for a period of two years. May cover a summer session.

Award

Fellowship covers:
A full or partial tuition waiver
Student services and activities fee.
A monthly stipend
In support of their professional training, fellows are assigned 20 to 40 hours per week in research work.
