Education

The Education Initiative introduces a series of education certificates which are intended to offer educators in Egypt unique opportunities to enrich their knowledge and skills in key areas of education. Each of these certificates reflects best international practices, tailored to the contemporary needs of the Egyptian educational system and society.

VISION: The Education Initiative is a primary vehicle through which AUC manifests its commitment to education in Egypt and the Arab World through offering quality programs that are responsive to contemporary society and regional needs and challenges, reflecting best international practices.

MISSION: The Initiative is dedicated to fostering excellence in professional education opportunities for all participants through sustaining a coherent, integrated system of learning in collaboration with various partners. This initiative is underpinned by the belief that learning is a dynamic, interactive, life-long process which depends on empowering learners and learning communities.

The Education Initiative includes certificates in Early Literacy Education, Teaching (for Non-Education Majors), Secondary School Teaching, Educational Technology for Classroom Teachers, Diverse Learners, and Educational Leadership.

Financial Support for Egyptians

Financial Support for Egyptians: Egyptian participants are eligible for financial support, through their school’s participation in the Industrial Modernization Council (IMC-Egypt) project. Schools should register online at www.imc-egypt.org to receive an IMC registration number. Then they can apply for support for the AUC Education programs.

Educational Forums

A special feature of these certificate programs will be a series of Education Forums. Education Forum Theme for 2007-2008: LIFE LONG LEARNING AND THE CHALLENGES OF GLOBALIZATION. These professional symposia will feature outstanding international and local figures in the key areas of education represented by the certificate programs. These Forums will provide opportunities for local and international educators to share information on essential contemporary issues in education, in order to enable local educators to meet the challenges posed by modern education in Egypt. Click here for more information on the educational forum and schedule.
