Career Certificate in Teaching Arabic as a Foreign Language (CCTAFL)
Venue: Heliopolis and Tahrir Square Campuses
A 60-hour pre-service certificate of intensive Modern Standard Arabic (MSA) and Spoken Arabic of Cairo (SAC) teacher training that consists of three modules: methodology, content-based instruction and practicum. The first module is a series of skill-development workshops in the areas of lesson planning, presentation skills, teacher’s skills and assessment. The second module comprises a series of workshops in language-specific training such as MSA and SAC grammar, phonetics, and Arabic calligraphy. The third module is designed to provide teacher trainees with teaching practice and to develop self and peer-assessment.
Admission Requirements:
1. Successfully passing the Proficiency Test in Modern Standard Arabic - PTMSA - (for all native speakers of Arabic) and international students.
2. Successfully passing the Proficiency Test in the Spoken Arabic of Cairo - PTSAC - (for international students who are non-native speakers of Arabic).
3. An oral interview.
