Dean's Welcome
Dean's Welcome
The School of Humanities and Social Sciences is central to the mission of AUC, a university that advances the ideals of liberal arts and professional education and that seeks to contribute to Egypt's cultural and intellectual life as well as foster students' appreciation of their responsibilities to society. The liberal core of HUSS's mission focuses on enhancing the ability to analyze opinions and assumptions, becoming more aware of the past while open to new ways of thinking, and, above all, developing a capacity for critical thinking and creative approaches to problem-solving. In other words, HUSS faculty seek to help students learn
how
to think, not
what
to think, a vital ability in our rapidly changing world.
