AUC's School Of Business, Economics and Communication (BEC) attracts and maintains internationally qualified faculty, admits and retains academically motivated students, maintains state-of-the-art instructional technologies and facilities, and provides a wide variety of educational opportunities and services. Its constituencies value the school’s strong belief in developing programs founded on the principles of integrity, creativity, rigor and relevance.

BEC Highlights

The Department of Management is the only program of its kind in Egypt and North Africa and one of only 85 business schools outside the United States whose business, accounting and MBA programs are accredited by the AACSB International, the world’s largest and most prestigious management accrediting agency. The department is also one of the only departments in the Middle East to offer a Master of Public Policy and Administration.

The Department of Economics is the oldest such department in Egypt. It offers degrees in economics and international development, and sponsors a range of activities including the Working Papers Series, a forum for faculty research and the Economic and Business History Research Center. The department is also affiliated with the FEMISE Network, one of whose principal activities is to undertake socioeconomic research on topics identified as a priority for the future of the Euro-Mediterranean region.   

The Department of Journalism and Mass Communication is a leader in broadcasting, media, culture, and education and is widely recognized for its outstanding graduates in media outlets around the world .

Centers and Facilities

The Business, Economics and Communication Computer Center (BECCC) is recognized by outside consultants as one of the best in the world. The center consists of labs and information technology classrooms which house computers, as well as printers, scanners, smart boards, media-show projectors and other specialized equipment for faculty and student needs.

The Kamal Adham Center for Journalism Training and Research (KACJ) is dedicated to fostering the next generational of Arab journalists through academic degree options, professional training courses for working print, online and broadcast journalists, and a range of research and publishing activities. Facilities include television studios and state-of-the-art videotape editing labs, supported by the latest in digital field cameras.

The Citadel Capital Financial Services Center (CCFC) is considered the first of its kind in the Middle East to offer students, researchers and professionals an exciting state-of-the-art instructional facility that integrates hands-on financial services practice into classroom financial concepts such as securities trading, risk management and asset allocation. The center provides students, researchers and professionals, access to real-time financial data, professional research tools, and leading analytic software replicating a real-life trading room environment.

The Management Center is one of the region's principal executive development training institutions. The vision of the Management Center is “to regularly maintain its leading position in executive management education in Egypt and become a major player in the region”. Such vision is translated in its mission that is “to foster the dissemination of managerial knowledge to develop leaders capable of competing in a growing and changing global marketplace and help improve the excellence of private, public and government organizations in Egypt and the region through practical executive education and applied market knowledge and experience.
