AUC’s partnerships is directed at demonstrating the quality of AUC’s academic activities and their impact on the world, as well as its internal capacity in educational and scholarly endeavors, to local and international audiences and institutions. More specifically, local partnerships display AUC’s value to the Middle East, Africa, Egypt and Cairo. International partnerships, on the other hand, display the essential role that AUC plays in the region, as well as the inherent value that it offers to institutions all over the world. Though some partnerships are acceptable as “transactional” relationships, the greatest attention should be placed on “transformational” relationships—those that can offer significant internal worth to AUC’s faculty, staff and students.
AUC is recognized by many U.S. colleges as an approved overseas study site for their students and has formal agreements with many institutions. The maximum duration for a study-abroad program is two semesters and a summer session. Study-abroad students are not limited to set list of courses, but can choose from the general lists of courses. Because AUC is accredited in the United States as well as in Egypt, American students are usually able to transfer AUC credits to their home institutions.
