STAs and CLT staff collaborate with faculty in the preparation of instructional materials that include PowerPoint presentations, digitization of slides, image conversion and manipulation, and website development. In addition, STAs activities include WebCT one-on-one faculty training and uploading of course materials (text, images, PPT slides, grades etc) on WebCT. To date, 90 faculty members have made use of the service of the STA program.

The examples below illustrate some of the STAs' activities

Anthropology Department

Helped Dr. SAMI OMAR:

• Digitize and edit images
• Create PowerPoint slide show for class use

Construction Engineering Department

Helped Dr. EDWARD SMITH:

• Digitize 35mm slides.
• Scan and edit images
• Create PowerPoint slide show for presentation in class

Collaborated with Dr. SAFWAN KHEDR:

To Convert his PPT slides into Macromedia Director show for lecture presentations. Work done included:

• Transferring data from PPT to Director
• Digitizing images from codes and books
• Creating internal and external links for ease of navigation
• Creating animation scheme for convenient presentation purposes.

Chemistry Department

Collaborated with Dr. JEHANE RAGAI:

To create PPT presentations for class use and upload them on WebCT. Work done included:

• Digitizing transparencies
• Creating specific animation schemes to illustrate technical concepts (i.e. Bohr's Model of the Atom)

Egyptology Department

For Dr. GAWDAT GABRA:

• Trained him on the use of PPT
• Digitized over 300 of his 35mm slides
• Scanned and edited images
• Worked with him to create PPT slide shows for in class presentations, seminars, and conferences

Electronics Engineering Department

Collaborated with Dr. HAMMAM ELABD:

To create a CD with all his instructional materials for the course "Design of Integrated Circuits". Work done included :

• Reformating of PPT presentations from previous semester
• Creating a new animation scheme to all PPT presentations
• Creating a PPT presentation about the Electronics Engineering Department at AUC
• Creating a PPT presentation integrating and linking all presentations, assignments, exams, lab manuals, and projects together
• Creating an autorun CD with all the instrutional materials of the course

Journalism and Mass Communication Department

Collaborated with Dr. PEGGY BIEBER-ROBERTS:

To help 16 of her students develop news websites representing Egyptian News and Culture. Work done included:

• Training students on the use of Dreamweaver
• Helping them incorporate audio and video files into their websites

Mathematics Department

For Dr. MAHA EL ASHRAM / DR. CECILE MATTA:

• Trained Dr. El Ashram and Dr. Matta on the use of PowerPoint
• Created PowerPoint presentations for class use

Performing & Visual Arts Department

For MS. MARRIN ROBINSON:

Trained PVA department assistant to do the following work:

• Digitize 35mm Slides
• Create PowerPoint Slide Show for class presentation
• Create internal links between slides to navigate through entire show
• Create animation scheme to trim slide transition and appearance
