Registration Procedures: Payment of Tuition

For Fall 2007, regular paying students must pay by September 4, which is the late registration deadline for fall.

For Spring 2008, regular paying students must pay by January 31, 2008 which is the late registration deadline. If you pay after January 31, you will be charged a late registration fee.

Payment Calculation
Tuition is calculated based on your course load and the prevailing rates per credit hour for the semester. Students should refer to the Tuition, Fees, and Expenses section of the registrar's site.

Continuing students should refer to the Tuition, Fees, and Expenses section of the registrar's site.

Payment Methods
Go to the Student Accounting Office (Room 155 Main Building, next to Oriental Hall) to pick up the Collection Advice Slip with which you will be able to pay at the bank.

Please remember to include student ID number, student name and the semester(s) for which the payment is made.

Although other payment options are available, it is highly recommended that you make your payment at the Commercial International Bank (CIB), AUC branch.

Payments through the AUC branch of CIB - NO CASH
The Commercial International Bank (CIB) branch is located on the Main Campus in the Main Building by the Sheikh Rihan entrance (2797)-5023. This branch will not accept cash payment. CIB will ONLY accept:

• Certified checks—you may certify your personal check at your local bank.
  
• Bank drafts—you may purchase a bank draft from any bank. Prepare a check or bank draft with the amount of your tuition and fees due.
  
• Bank transfers—you may instruct your bank to transfer the tuition and fee amount to the Commercial International Bank (Egypt) SAE—Hoda Shaarawi branch—account number 0510000169 for payment in Egyptian pounds or to the AUC account number 05100300155 for payment in U.S. dollars.

NOTE: Bank transfers should be made at least five business days prior to the due date to allow sufficient time for processing. Please fax a copy of the transfer document to AUC, fax number: 2-02 2795-7565 and address the fax to the attention of the Controller's Office/Students Accounts. CIB will not do a transfer for those who don't have a CIB account.

Payment at branches of CIB other than the AUC branch - CASH ONLY
Always remember to include student ID number, student name and the term(s) for which the payment is made.

1. The following CIB branches will accept ONLY cash for payments (Account #0510000169 for payment in Egyptian pounds or to the AUC account number 05100300155 for payment in U.S. dollars)
   
2. Transfers from abroad in US dollars can be made to AUC's Commercial International Bank (Egypt) SAE - Hoda Shaarawi branch, AUC account # in US dollar 0510300155.

Payment through the New York Office
Students who were admitted through the New York office may process payment there. Make checks payable to: the American University in Cairo. The student's full name, ID number and purpose of payment must be written clearly in the memo section on the check.
