Maha ElShinnawy is Associate Professor in the Department of Management of the School of Business, Economics and Communications at The American University in Cairo. Previously, she was Associate Professor at the Lowry Mays College of Business at Texas A&M University. She received her Ph.D. from UCLA's Anderson School of Management 1993.ElShinnawy's research interests focus on the patterns of usage and impacts of virtual communication in organizations. Her research also investigates the effects of group technologies on group interaction, group identity and performance, persuasive argumentation, normative and informational influence, choice and attitude shift, and organizational structure. She employs different research methods and tools such as structural equation modeling, regression analysis, and qualitative methods.
She has published her work in numerous conference proceedings and in leading journals such as Management Information Systems Quarterly, IEEE Transactions, The International Journal of Human Computer Studies and The Information Society, among others.
