Maha Abdelrahman is an assistant professor of sociology at AUC. Among her recent publications is Civil Society Exposed: The Politics of NGOs in Egypt (IB Taurus 2004). Her research interests cover political Islam, opposition politics and social movements in the Middle East, and nationalism. She was a member of the editorial board for Cairo Papers in Social Science and advisor for a multidisciplinary degree (minor) in development studies at AUC.
